In December 2018 MCAN members had a fruitful and inspiring meeting with Jan-Jaap Sas, advisor at the Afghanistan desk and Max Valstar, head of the department of South-east Asia and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
We met and exchanged our experiences and thoughts on future cooperation. In addition, MCAN was invited to the premiere of the Afghan film “RocKabul’’ in the Hague on December 18th 2018.
Subsequently, a delegation of MCAN attended the premier of RocKabul; a documentary about five young people who play in a heavy metal band in Afghanistan, the first of its kind. The film expressed how important freedom of speech is. After the meeting, connections were layed with employees of the Dutch ministry as well as with Afghan embassy. Overall, there was interest in where MCAN stands for and what we do
