Since January 1, 2016, the Afghanistan-Netherlands Medical Committee may call itself a Public Benefit Organization (ANBI). ANBIs are institutions designated by the tax authorities that work for the common good. In practice, this means that MCAN may use certain tax benefits; for example, MCAN does not have to pay tax on gifts and legacies. And even more interesting for our donors, from the above date our donors can deduct their gifts from the tax authorities in their tax return.
